“Conspiracies are hard to implement.”

That’s a quote from this week’s Global Macro Update special guest, Lyric Hughes Hale of econVue. Lyric is a respected CEO, research analyst, former journalist, and Asia expert.

Lyric notes that while it is tempting to view much of China’s actions toward the US through the lens of conspiracy, sometimes the reality is much simpler. Incompetence, human error, fear of superiors… there are often more plausible explanations for seemingly nefarious actions.
