I don’t know of anything better or more timely. They actually call every state to get updates directly plus have deep contacts in BLS. Philippa wanted me to point out that they are not saying BLS is lying; this is just part of the revision process, and they are actually very transparent about it, which is something I point out a lot. It is just that what they do is a survey and it's subject to interpretation and modeling, so it can be misinterpreted if you take it as gospel the minute it appears.
