Robert Shiller, the 2013 Nobel laureate, is a professor of economics at Yale University who is known for his analysis of stock market cycles. He just published a very readable, brief analysis of what market conditions were like in the 13 previous bear markets since the 1800s. It will not come as a surprise that today's conditions are much the same. Quite useful analysis.
