Over My Shoulder

Joan McCullough: Yellen revisited

March 6, 2013

I read Joan McCullough almost every day. She is something of an acquired taste, as she is colorful, irreverent, and fond of expletives. But she ferrets out significant details that others miss – she must have a memory for detail that is galaxy-class. This week she goes back to a speech by Janet Yellen in 2011 in which she talks about the withdrawal of Fed buying right about now. Oh, wait, that is not going to happen. This is fun (if you like sarcastic investment analysis), but it does give you pause. How can the Fed withdraw without consequences?
