For the first time in more than three years, the monthly data on freight volumes has shown signs of growth – for two months in a row. This is not quite a trend, but it's a change from what we have seen in the recent past. This is a simple monthly analysis on the shipment of actual goods from an inside-the-industry observer. 2014 is going as strong as any five months since the end of the recession, counter to the ugly GDP number of the 1st quarter. Just more of a very confusing data picture but something we need to pay attention to and not something that shows up on your average radar screen.
