Alexander Ineichen: Economic World Cup 2014

Regular readers know that Alexander Ineichen offers a fabulous statistical momentum monitor service which I forward every now and then. He produced the attached report, the first part of which is a whimsical statistical analysis of the World Cup, which my (more in-the-know) non-US readers will find quite fun. The latter half is the more serious investment stuff.
Frankly, I see this as an amusing indictment of much of the statistical data we gather on investments in such minutiae, looking for any type of correlation, no matter how far-fetched. Perhaps I should get Alexander to run his "celestial beta" indicator against market movements rather than just World Cup predictions. Just saying…
