Skim to about halfway down. Recognize this is 1932 and this is the Saturday Evening Post, one of the most respected papers in the country. The argument for Glass-Steagall is as sound today as it was then, but this owner/editor made it much plainer. Ignore his snide remarks about universal suffrage, etc. as signs of the times. This was THE debate of the time, and it will be again, 80 years later. Plus ca change.
