The monthly NFIB "Small Business Economic Trends" report is out, and it's a downer: the Small Business Optimism Index fell substantially, with only one of the ten components posting a gain. As Bill Dunkelberg, NFIB chief economist, say, "This is no surprise, nothing has happened to allow owners to feel more confident about the near-term future."
