Over My Shoulder

Are concerns over a Greek exit overblown?

May 20, 2012

Every possible Grexit scenario is being explored -- and we just don't know. As the author says, "Trying to predict anything involving the Greeks is virtually mission impossible." Here, Kiron Sarkar tries to convince himself and us that it's all doable -- that Greek voters will do the right thing, that Germany will get a clue, that the ECB will man up -- but in the end he's back to saying, "I remain of the view that Greece is far too much of a problem and its ability to continue to create problems is way above its perceived threat. In addition, we all know that the Greeks will never comply – not a great precedent to the Irish, Portuguese, Spanish, and Italians."
